Research Purpose:
The purpose of this study is to examine the Quality of Life in the lymphedema population before and after surgical intervention. We aim to get a better perceptive on how an individual’s state of mind changes after lymphedema surgery, over a significant amount of time. Following patients over a significant period of time allows for a better understanding of their quality of life, allowing them to settle into their new bodies and monitoring if time is a factor.
What is involved:
Patients will be asked to complete three questionnaires at five time points: prior to surgery, 1 month, 6 months, 1 year and 2 years following surgery. These surveys will take approximately 15 minutes to complete at each time point.
Who can participate:
You may be eligible to participate in this study if you are:
- 18 years or older
- Have lymphedema
- Eligible for surgical intervention
