The Patient Advisory Committee (PAC) is a collaborative group with lived experiences, dedicated to enhancing breast reconstruction research and patient-researcher relationships. The PAC works closely with the research team to develop new topics, review ongoing studies, and find impactful ways to share findings with the public.
We are seeking individuals who have lived experiences with breast cancer care and/or breast reconstruction to join the PAC. Members meet via Zoom on the last Tuesday of every month at 6:00 PM for 1 hour. During these meetings, participants provide valuable feedback on projects and share their personal experiences to help improve research efforts and patient care.
Members are initially asked for a one-year commitment, aiming to attend 8-10 out of 12 meetings annually. Led by the UBC Breast Reconstruction Research Coordinator, these sessions feature discussions on current projects and personal stories from other committee members. This opportunity fosters a supportive community where members can connect and contribute meaningfully to breast reconstruction research.
If you have any questions about joining our Patient Advisory Committee, please feel free to ask! You can contact us under our page ‘Contact Us’.
