P. Clugston Chair of Breast Reconstruction

Dr. Patricia Clugston

Dr. Clugston completed her medical degree and residency in plastic surgery at the University of British Columbia, before moving on to do a fellowship in Nashville. Her BC roots brought her back to Vancouver following her fellowship, where she continued to be a driving force in the development of a comprehensive and renowned breast reconstruction program, now known as the UBC Breast Reconstruction Group. Dr. Clugston didn’t just develop this program, she dedicated her career to advocating for and improving the treatment options for women seeking breast reconstruction.

In 2005, Dr. Clugston passed away, but her intellectual determination and commitment to improving the patient experience fueled her colleagues and community to create an endowed Chair in her name.

Today, the Dr. Patricia Clugston Chair of Breast Reconstruction Research is held by Dr. Kathryn Isaac, a surgeon committed to honoring her legacy, and furthering the improvement of breast cancer care and reconstruction options for patients.
