Hi, my name is Pauline Shapton, I will be filling in for Selena Banser’s Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) role. I am originally from Ontario but moved out to Vancouver for all the running, hiking, and skiing and haven’t left for 7 years, so you could say I love the adventure that Vancouver offers. My career has involved a diverse healthcare setting from adult to pediatric units that included both chronic and acute care with a primary focus in pediatric oncology. Further, I have taken on leadership roles as an instructor and nurse clinician. I have also completed my Masters of Science in Nursing at UBC about two years ago. During my master’s program, I completed a published scoping review focused on support resources for oncology family members. Altogether, I hope to utilize my learning and experience with this population to assist me in collaborating effectively with both the interprofessional team members and the patients/families to provide high-quality centered care as a CNS. I am excited to join this wonderful team and meet you all!
